Nutrition

How do you create a nutrition plan for me?

We first talk about what your goals are, then you’ll fill out a questionnaire, and a food log. Then we’ll meet to go over recommended changes and you’ll get a plan to work on your needs. You’ll have a workbook with homework and a goal plan to set your new changes in place!

Can I have a food allergy or intolerance and still use one of your plans?

Yes! We’ll work together to fit your nutritional needs.

Why is the meal plan only four days and not longer?

The meal plan is a guide, not something you will follow exactly and the four day plan is an example of what you will do. We will work on long-term success and that means giving you tools to understand how to make changes to your diet and not follow a strict plan. We will work on other habits to understand your body, what makes you feel best, and how to make better choices.

What types of meal plans do you give?

We will actually focus on types of foods and not outline exactly what you will eat. We’ll also work with habits and how to begin a new way of thinking about food. With a Full Nutrition Consultation or Family Consultation you’ll get a four-day meal plan that will give you ideas on how to lay out meals and snacks, as well as some recipes.

I’ve had a past injury; can I still work with you?

Yes! Before we start, I’ll do an assessment of how you move, talk about any past injuries, concerns, or specific goals you have. Your training will be made for you.

What is your style of training?

My background and education is very diversified and I can work with many different styles of training.

What is sleep coaching?

Sleep coaching (for both adults and children) takes a look at your sleep hygiene, your sleep environment, and daily habits to help you gain a better understanding of how to improve your sleep habits. Sleep is critical for health and one of the top ways to improve your overall health and wellbeing. We’ll set up a plan for you and what will improve yours or your child’s sleep.

Is sleep really that important?

Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your entire life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety.

The way you feel while you’re awake depends in part on what happens while you’re sleeping. During sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development.

The damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you over time. For example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise your risk for some chronic health problems. It also can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others.

So, yes. Getting quality sleep is extremely important!
